Where the fun begins

Aquatics

The Aquatic Center at Worth Ranch features two swimming pools with merit badges and programs almost non-stop from sun up to sun down.  The pool offers instructional swim for those interested in learning to swim along with merit badges such as swimming and lifesaving.  Free swim, snorkelling, water volleyball, mile swim, and BSA lifeguard are just some of the other activities and programs offered at the Aquatic Center. Safe swim defence is also offered for your Scoutmasters and troop leaders.

Travelling on down to the river we find more aquatics programs and merit badges.  Canoeing, Rowing and Motor Boating merit badges offer advancement opportunities for scouts while other programs include free boating for those that just want to come try their hand at canoeing, rowing or kayaking.  For the older Scouts there is an evening canoe trip with dinner on the river.

Shooting Sports

The shooting sports area at Worth Ranch offers Archery, Rifle and Shotgun merit badges. Instructed by highly trained staff members that ensure safety is always a top priority these activities.  For those that just want to try their hand at using a bow and arrow, firing a shot at a target or shooting clays, Worth Ranch offers free shooting several times a day.

Climbing

The Climbing Garden at Worth Ranch offers some of the best climbing you will find in the area on an all natural rock surface that offers many levels of difficulty.  Staffed by our highly trained and nationally certified climbing staff this is truly an area your older scouts will enjoy.

 1st Year Scouting Program

The Hammer Patrol is a specially designed program for first year Scouts that focuses on basic Scout skills best taught in an outdoor setting.  Scouts will learn to use a compass, tie knots, basic first aid and even complete most of their second class and fist class rank requirements.  Highlights of this program include spending the night under the stars on top of Kyle Mountain, hiking and introductions to many other scout skills and various program areas at Worth Ranch.
